The PSS toolbox depends on
    
    * fastfit (T. Minka), available from

    * lightspeed (T. Minka), available from
        http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/people/minka/software/lightspeed/
    * EMD (M. Alipour, based on C code by Y. Rubner, available from
        http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/12936

All third-party toolboxes come with their own installlation manuals.
Installing PSS amounts to unzipping the PSS zip file; the toolbox is native
MATLAB code and does not require compilation.
